The Fire That Destroyed Legends

There's not many car related images I've come across that's made me sit back and think oh damn... Unfortunately while researching for this news post I found one.

Back in May 2017, a accidental fire ripped through RB Motorsport, a specialist Japanese performance shop tucked away in Wigan, UK. We never did find out what caused this fire as it was never publicly announced which makes a lot of public  assume this was human error on their behalf. (This could be inaccurate)

Inside were Nissan GT-Rs and Skylines of all generations and even old rare classic fords!

The Fire That Ate Legends

The blaze was sudden and brutal. In photos shared afterward, almost everything in the shop was either melted or reduced to ash. RB Motorsport itself said 99% of their unit was destroyed cars, tools, equipment and rare parts all gone.

Thankfully, no one was physically hurt. That’s the part that still gives us relief. These things all be it very special. They remain materialist objects and that's coming from true JDM lover.

What Was Lost?

Inside were Nissan GT-Rs and Skylines R32s right up to modern R35s of all generations and even old rare classic fords!

Let’s put some context around what that loss might mean in real dollars:

An R32 GT-R in good condition can easily be worth £37,000–£80,000 depending on mileage and condition.

A higher-spec R35 GT-R can range from £60,000 up to £120,000+ with mods and low miles.

Rare or well built cars, like tuned examples or special editions... Those can vault way past six figures each.

Conservative math says the total wiped out in that fire was well into the mid-hundreds of thousands if not millions  of pounds worth of cars and equipment. That doesn’t even count the value of the parts, tools, and irreplaceable personal builds sitting inside.

The Human Side

RB Motorsport acknowledged the devastation honestly...
It would take a long time to get back on its feet. They were thankful that no one was hurt, and that the community rallied behind them with messages of support but there was no pretending it wasn’t a crushing blow probably and hopefully the biggest the company will ever encounter.

 Why It Still Matters

A fire like this isn’t just news it’s a reminder that things we love are fragile. If passion is cars or anything mechanical, you’re part of a world built around passion.

JDM Legends GONE.
