Car Maintenance Mistakes That Could Cost You Thousands!

We thought today we would look out for our readers and give you the most common mistakes that could cost you thousands!!
Using the wrong fluids can cause serious damage.
Putting the wrong fuel in your car is more common than you might think. Filling a diesel car with petrol, or a petrol car with diesel, happens every day!!
People also get caught out using the wrong fluids. Gearbox oil, differential oil and coolant are not universal. Each one has its own specification for a reason.
Using the wrong fuel can lead to breakdowns, damaged pumps, clogged injectors and very expensive repairs. Using the wrong fluids can wear out or even destroy internal components much faster than you expect.
Delaying oil changes.
Delaying oil changes is one of the most expensive “cheap” decisions you can make. Oil is always cheaper than replacing an engine.
High revving Japanese performance engines are especially sensitive to oil quality and sticking to the correct service intervals. They rely on clean oil to handle heat and protect tight internal tolerances. Skip services and you risk sludge build up, overheating and even turbo failure. What could have been a simple oil change can quickly turn into a full rebuild.

Driving While Ignoring Brake Wear
Ignoring brake wear can cost you far more than you expect. Pads and discs are cheap compared to replacing callipers.
If you start hearing grinding or squealing, or you feel vibration through the pedal or steering wheel, do not ignore it. Get it checked straight away. Catching it early usually means a simple fix maybe just the pads. Leaving it too long can turn into a much bigger and more expensive problem.
Palming Off Early Warning Signs
Ignoring early warning signs is one of the fastest ways to turn a small issue into a big bill.
Strange noises, vibrations or warning lights are not temporary. Cars do not fix themselves. When something feels different, there is usually a reason. A lot of drivers keep using the car and hope it goes away. What could have been a simple bearing or seal replacement can quickly turn into a full assembly change and a much more expensive repair.
