Phantom Black Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X GSR

A Phantom Black Mitsubishi Evo X GSR.
Our client asked for our honest assessment and this one certainly made an impression.
One thing we’ll happily admit here at The Hikari Project is our appreciation for clean, "OEM PLUS" builds these are cars that remain relatively factory in appearance, enhanced only by a handful of carefully chosen, tasteful modifications. When assessing a car, we don’t ask how much has been done to it. We ask why it was done.
The Purchase.
Back in April 2017, our client took delivery of this car with just 13 miles on the clock!
It has remained a one owner example ever since, carefully kept and quietly enjoyed. Anyone care guess the mileage today nearly a decade later?
The mileage tells its own story just 3,340 miles making this one of the lowest mileage example around.

Weekend Toy = Modifications?
A weekend toy always invites a little temptation and in this case, it came in the form of in source of SOUND MODS! Breezy in the front and loud of the back. Laid out is a selection of quality components, including ETS titanium exhaust sections, intake piping, a high-flow cone filter, boost control hardware, and supporting fittings all chosen to enhance the experience without compromising the car’s original character.
Why does it almost look tasty?
Would you like to see these fitted?
Our client told us these parts sat waiting for almost a YEAR! Delays, missed dates, and a mechanic who kept letting him down. In the end, he decided to take matters into his own hands and do the job himself. Honestly, we’re not sure how he showed that much patience most of us wouldn’t have lasted half as long.
With such low miles (Around 2100 at the time) there's not a spec of oil to be seen
Summary Time UNFILTERED
Following a thorough inspection including time spent underneath the vehicle and listening closely to the engine in operation we can say with confidence that this is a well-cared-for car, but not without its imperfections. Transparency is fundamental to how we carry out our reviews, and owners are always made aware that our assessments are honest and unbiased.
Underneath, the car has been undersealed, and the only issue we noted was a blowing exhaust at the catalytic converter. The owner believes this is likely the result of fitting work carried out on the driveway a reasonable conclusion given the circumstances. Aside from this, everything underneath presents well.

Inside, the interior is generally clean, but this is where we step away from praise and into accuracy. There are a few visible marks present, and a non-functioning radio button, which, while not severe, is not something we overlook particularly given the low mileage. These are small issues, but they are issues nonetheless.
Under the bonnet, the engine bay is clean and tidy, but again, not flawless. Some of the aftermarket components could have been better aligned and more carefully finished. While everything is operating as it should and no mechanical faults were identified, the installation quality in places falls short of what we would consider exemplary.
Taken as a whole, this is a car that has been maintained with care, driven with respect, and owned with clear pride exactly the kind of honesty and condition we value when carrying out a Hikari assessment.
Its a signed and sealed:

7.2/10 Hikari Rating
Such a low mileage well looked after example deserves praise.
